Dean’s Background

Dean has over 25 years' experience as a mechanic starting with his apprenticeship at Pedco Motors in Palmerston North working on Jeep, Renault and Chrysler.

His passion for European vehicles led him to Hawke's Bay, where he joined Mercedes-Benz and worked there for over 10 years. During that time, Dean received extensive manufacturing training, gained deep diagnostic expertise, and developed a strong understanding of modern vehicle technology.

In 2011 Dean achieved 2^nd place in the Mercedes Technician of the Year, recognising his skill, precision, and dedication to his craft.

After leaving the dealership environment, Dean broadened his experience working in independent workshops, developing a strong reputation for auto electrical diagnostics, classic vehicles, and performance modifications.

Why Mossy Motors Was Created

These combined experiences shaped his vision for Mossy Motors - a workshop built on integrity, transparency, quality workmanship, and fair pricing.

That vision has now become a reality.

Our Team

Today, Dean leads a skilled and dedicated team of fully qualified mechanics - Sam and Locky - who share the same commitment to doing the job properly, communicating honestly with customers, and treating every vehicle with care.
